Career Buddy ("we", "our", "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- CV/Resume Data: When you upload a PDF or DOCX file, we extract text content for AI analysis. Your CV data is stored locally on your device.
- Job Postings: Job posting text you paste for comparison analysis.
- Preferences: Language, theme, and notification preferences.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Analytics Data: App usage patterns, screen views, feature usage frequency (via Firebase Analytics).
- Crash Reports: Device model, OS version, crash stack traces (via Firebase Crashlytics).
- Advertising Data: Advertising ID, ad interaction data (via Google AdMob).
- Performance Data: App startup time, network latency (via Firebase Performance).
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do NOT collect your name, email, or phone number from CV uploads for our servers.
- We do NOT store your CV content on our servers — all CV data remains on your device.
- We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data Storage & Security
Your CV data stays on your device. We do not maintain a server-side database of user CVs. When AI features are used, CV text is sent to Google Gemini API for processing and is not stored by us after the response is received.
- Local storage: Android Room database (on-device, not encrypted by default)
- Preferences: Android DataStore (on-device)
- Network: All API calls use HTTPS encryption
- App Check: Firebase App Check with Play Integrity protects our API endpoints
5. Advertising & Consent
We display advertisements through Google AdMob. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and California (USA):
- GDPR (Europe): We request consent before showing personalized ads via the Google UMP SDK. You can change your consent at any time in Settings → Ad Preferences.
- CCPA (California): You have the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal data, but ad partners may use data for targeted advertising.
- Premium users do not see banner or interstitial ads.
6. Children's Privacy
Career Buddy is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

8. Data Retention
- CV data: Stored locally until you delete it or uninstall the app
- Analytics data: Retained by Firebase for up to 14 months
- Crash data: Retained by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days
- Subscription data: Retained by RevenueCat per their retention policy
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date.

- Wir speichern Ihre CV-Inhalte NICHT auf unseren Servern.

2. Werbung & Einwilligung
- DSGVO: Wir fragen vor personalisierten Anzeigen um Einwilligung (Google UMP SDK). Sie können Ihre Einwilligung jederzeit in den Einstellungen ändern.
- Premium-Nutzer sehen keine Banner- oder Interstitial-Werbung.

- KVKK/GDPR: Kişiselleştirilmiş reklam göstermeden önce UMP SDK ile rızanızı alırız. Rıza tercihinizi Ayarlar'dan değiştirebilirsiniz.
